Industry solution: Equipment and plant engineering, compensation units

  • Equipment and switchgear engineering (busbars, disconnectors, platform insulators for compensation units, etc.)

Exposed to compressive, bending, and torsional forces

Our post insulators manufactured from the latest high-performance ceramics remain in use in switchgears as well as in platforms for compensation units for decades. Our experience with the production of post insulators dates back to 1930. Research and development have optimized our post insulators for distribution and switching systems.

We manufacture single-piece post insulators up to 2300 mm in length for 245 kV and multi-sectional solutions for voltage levels up to 1100 kV. Our post insulators are primarily exposed to compressive, bending, and torsional forces during operation and are specifically designed for this purpose.

Dimensions

  • Voltage level: 1 – 1100 kV (>245 kV in multi-sectional design)
  • Maximum overall length (single-piece): 2300 mm
  • Maximum core diameter: 300 mm
  • Flexible creepage distance design of up to 55 mm/kV
  • Conical shape (preferred for designs in line with IEC)
  • Cylindrical shape (preferred for designs in line with ANSI)
  • End fittings in line with IEC 60273, DIN VDE 0674-20, and ANSI C29.9

Manufacturing method

  • Wet method
  • In line with standard C130 (IEC 60672): High-strength alumina porcelain
  • In line with standard C130 HS: Ultra-high strength
  • Glaze colors: Brown RAL 8016 and gray ANSI 70

Manufactured in line with the following standards:

  • IEC 60273
  • IEC 60168
  • IEC 60672
  • ANSI C29.9
